HEATHER KUFCHAK enjoys a varied musical career, performing with several professional groups including ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, as well as teaching her private studio. Known for her emotive sound and lively playing, Heather has performed chamber music extensively since beginning with her siblings at age seven.
She began her violin studies at age four. Living in Columbus for the majority of her youth, she participated in many of the local programs for young musicians. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ohio University as a student of Marjorie Bagley. In 2011, she graduated with her master’s degree in violin performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, where she studied with Kathleen Winkler on a full scholarship. Besides music, Heather enjoys having another creative outlet working as an interior designer, as well as lifting weights and spending time outdoors. |
